Event Description: WomenShelter of Long Beach (WSLB) has partnered with the Teachers Association of Long Beach (TALB) to host its 11th free annual National Domestic Violence Awareness Month Event on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 5:30PM-9:00PM. Please join us as we honor the lives of those who have been affected by domestic violence and promote prevention education and awareness in hopes of preventing future violence. WSLB will share information that will help individuals distinguish between unhealthy and healthy relationships and recognize the impact of domestic violence in the community.

Service providers such as The Guidance Center, Rainbow Services, YWCA, and many others are hosting tables to provide all attendees with information about local, free services. In addition, WomenShelter invites attendees to participate in two community art projects where they will have the opportunity to reflect, commemorate, and/or make a pledge. Live music, free popcorn, and fun giveaways will also be provided. We welcome you all to attend and participate in spreading LOVE and awareness!
