Thank you for your generosity and interest in supporting WomenShelter of Long Beach. Your contributions help us provide safety, comfort, and dignity to the individuals and families we serve. Below is a list of our most needed items that directly support our emergency shelter, supportive housing, and community-based programs.

2025 Grunion Gazette Gift Card Drive

Join us for WSLB’s annual Gift Card Drive in collaboration with the Grunion Gazette. Since its launch in 2004, this campaign has collected over $300,000 in gift cards and cash to support survivors of domestic violence. The gift cards collected are distributed to our clients during the holiday season and throughout the year, helping survivors and their children secure essentials — from groceries and household supplies to job interview attire and moving-in resources. Gift cards are one of the most flexible and impactful ways to give. They help us meet specific needs, such as hard-to-find clothing sizes or household essentials.

Suggested retailers: Food 4 Less, El Super, Aldi, Target, Walmart, CVS, Smart & Final, Visa/Mastercard, etc.

Clothing (Urgent Need)

Underwear, Bras, Socks (adults and children, all sizes)
Pajamas (adults and children)
Slippers, tennis shoes (adults and children, all sizes)
Youth/teen clothing: sweaters, shirts, pants, hats (girls and boys)
Adult tops and sweaters (women and men, all sizes)

Home Essentials

Flatware sets, children’s utensils, stainless steel dish racks
Luggage (full-size suitcases, carry-ons, duffel bags)
Cleaning supplies: microfiber towels, paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissue
Laundry detergent (HE), disinfecting wipes, Lysol, dish soap, hand soap, bleach, Pine-Sol, Swiffer WetJet (kits and refills)
Trash bags (13- and 33-gallon), dish sponges
Storage items: Ziploc bags (all sizes), Tupperware

Bedding & Linens

Twin-size waterproof mattress pads and quilted covers (39” x 75”)

Personal Care & Hygiene

Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, loofahs, razors, shaving cream
Feminine hygiene products (pads, all absorbencies), deodorant, mouthwash, Q-tips
Hair care products, skincare (face masks, moisturizers, etc.)
