Domestic Violence Advocate Training

The mission of WSLB is to eliminate domestic violence through compassionate intervention, education and personal empowerment. One of our pillars our prevention efforts to spread awareness of what IPV/DV is and of the services available to those who have been affected. In that spirit, we are offering WSLB’s state-certified 40-hour Domestic Violence Training.

As required by state law California Evidence Code Section §1037.1(a)(1), all employees and volunteers who will be providing direct client services at any domestic violence service agency are required to receive 40 hours of training on domestic violence.


Join us virtually for WSLB’s state-certified 40-hour Domestic Violence Training. Sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (PT), starting Tuesday, July 8 and running through Thursday, July 31.

Discounts are Available!

  • Early bird discount of $175 available until June 19th.
  • There is a student discount of $120. When you register, please include your .edu email address.

Qualifications

  • Eagerness and openness to learn more about IPV/DV
  • Must be over the age of 18
  • Computer/Phone with access to internet and camera required

Materials and Zoom links will be provided before each training date. Participants are required to keep video feeds on and engage in active participation during all training times, as well as ensure a secure and reliable internet connection. Space is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please be aware you must complete the full 40 hours of training to receive your certificate of completion.
